Tommie Rogers, 71, was born March 3, 1955, in Washington County, Mississippi, to the late Lucille Laney Rogers and James Rogers. He peacefully transitioned on August 13, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

A proud veteran, Tommie served in the United States Army and Army Reserve, retiring honorably as an E-5 Sergeant after decades of service. He also retired from Merchants Food after 35 years as a truck driver and later worked as a contract driver for the USPS.

Tommie accepted Christ at an early age and faithfully served as a Deacon, Trustee, Greeter, and maintenance person at Greater Destiny Fellowship Church.

Affectionately known for his humor, storytelling, military tales, random text messages, and endless Facebook Reels, Tommie never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, grilling, working on cars, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 43 years, Letha Rogers; children, Tommy Dixon, Sharon (Warren Jr.) Scott, Jeanette (Justin) Hawkins, and Rebecca Robinson-Stevens; seven grandchildren; godchildren; siblings and in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and his Greater Destiny church family.
